Open Tender: The whole public (companies) are invited to tender, provided they meet all the requirements. 2. Closed Tender: Selective tender process: Goods/ Services/ Products needed by the organization/ institution are very scarcely available. Only reputable companies who meet all the requirements/ specifications are invited to tender to provide specific services. 3. Two- envelope tender: Companies are invited to tender and provide both technical and financial proposals in separate envelopes. Only technical proposals are opened first. Only those companies who meet the technical specifications financial proposals are opened at a later stage for consideration to award, while those who did not meet the technical specifications financial proposals envelopes are not opened and returned. 4. Request for information: Tenderers are invited to provide preliminary proposals by submitting expert information on how best the services/ products required can be delivered to enable the company/institution to consider their capabilities. No guarantee to award the tender or financial incentives are attached to the request. 5. Expression of interest: Possible experienced, reputable tenderers are invited to proof interest being able to provide specific services and products. The company/ institution are uncertain if suppliers/ markets exist for unique/rare products/services. 6. Soul sourcing: The company/ organization is only dealing with one or more specific, known tenderer(s) who are the only one(s) capable to provide specific/rare services/products and meet special design requirements. Tenderers should also have a proven track record of being the most economic and serviceable. Value for money (price, after sales service and support) are preferred for award instead of the lowest price. No competition exists in this tendering process.
