26 ADVERTS Friday, April 6 2018| NEW ERA Positions Advert Summary of of the positions The Strengthening High Impact Interventions for an AIDS-free Generation (AIDSFree) Project aims to improve the goals and objectives globally. AIDSFree supports and advances implementation of the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through USAID by providing capacity development and technical support to USAID missions, host-country governments, and HIV implementers at the local, regional, and national level. As sub-contractors to JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc., Abt Associates will implement AIDSFree activities in Namibia 1. Position: Registered Nurses -Voluntary Male Medical Circumcision(VMMC)Programme Reports To: The supervisor as per hierarchal management structure Duty Station: MoHSS Khomas VMMC Clinic # of posts available: Two The Position: The registered Nurse will be responsible for the provision and management of VMMC services in Khomas region Key areas of focus: Provide comprehensive VMMC clinical services in accordance with the National Policy and guidelines plan, implement and monitor VMMC activities in the assigned facilities Lead the team that provides VMMC services in providing professional and comprehensive patient care, and accurate manner and timely submission of reports Supervise data entry and report writing Monitor and periodically review quality of services provided, program indicators and targets and institute remedial actions, Participate in local capacity building workshops and meetings on VMMC and share knowledge and information reasonable and lawful delegated duties Minimum requirements: Midwifery from an Internationally recognized training institution Registered with the Health Professions Council of surgical skills will be an added advantage Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to create and set goals which is inclusive of the diverse needs of the group and motivates individual team members Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft In addition to English preferably speaks at least one local language Ability to work under pressure without compromising quality and integrity 2. Position: Enrolled Nurse Reports To: The supervisor as per hierarchal management structure Duty Station: MoHSS Khomas VMMC Clinic # of posts available: Two The Position: The enrolled nurse will assist with Voluntary Male Medical Circumcision (VMMC) procedures, client counselling, HIV testing and quality assurance within the static and mobile outreach services. Key areas of focus Ensure the theatre areas are maintained in a ready to use state. Prepare VMMC clients, assist during surgery complete VMMC surgical procedure within the scope of practice Provide comprehensive post-operative care and followup. Ensure infection control practices, waste management and disposal are carried out according to the MoHSS policy movement Accurately and timely document clients' information Collaborate with community role players in engaging communities for the provision of HIV prevention strategies, including VMMC delegated duties Minimum requirements: Namibian Citizen Registration with the Health Professions Council of Namibia theater environment will be added advantage Ability to communicate in English and at least one local language Additional/Competency Requirements Must be able to work in a team Should have strong organizational skills Ability to work under pressure without compromising quality and integrity 3. Position: Community Counsellor-Voluntary Male Medical Circumcision (VMMC) Reports To: The supervisor as per hierarchal management structure Duty Station: MoHSS Khomas VMMC Clinic # of posts available: Two The Position: The Community Counsellor will be responsible for VMMC pre-and post- operative counselling and HIV testing of clients, as well as provision of support Transmitted Infections (STI) Key areas of focus Provide comprehensive VMMC counselling Provide HIV rapid testing according to the MoHSS protocol Make appropriate referrals within the health system and communities accurate documentation of service delivered and well as timely reporting of services rendered reasonable and lawful delegated duties Minimum requirements: Must have undergone the Ministry of Health and Social Services’ Community Counselors twelve (12)weeks initial training services for a minimum of 3 years on uninterrupted basis Must have basic computer skills Ability to communicate in English- written and spoken Ability to communicate in at least two local languages will be an added advantage Ability to work under pressure without compromising quality and integrity 4.
