Providing operational and equipment support on request. Inspecting incoming freight carriers to ensure deliveries are in accordance with receiving documents and procedures. Safely unloading incoming freight carriers using forklifts and associated materials handling equipment. Ensuring unloaded stock, direct charge purchases and contractor materials are placed in appropriate receiving locations pending inspection. Inspecting each delivery against the supplier packing list and associated Dundee purchase order documents. Confirming accuracy and condition of stock prior to it being issued. Checking material requisitions for full compliance (stock codes, descriptions, quantities and authorizations). Physically picking and issuing stock as per customer material requisition slips. Ensuring stock items are stored in correct and easily retrievable manner. Ensuring all items and stock boxes show relevant stock codes. Performing daily dips on all fuel tanks with supplier. Reviewing physical stock levels with onsite vendors and delivering materials to end users. Maintaining all warehouse areas to high levels of housekeeping standards. Identifying hazards and contributing to the maintenance of a safe working environment. Meeting operational requirements and providing relief in positions within the department. Performing other tasks and duties as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A Grade 12 School Certificate. Warehousing experience of to 2 to 3 years. Experience in an industrial high safety work environment. Ability to interpret warehouse documents, invoices, delivery dockets and requisition slips. Ability to meet work schedules through planning and coordinating. Good numerical skills. Ability to understand and follow safety procedures. Ability and willingness to work unsupervised. Ability to work accurately under pressure, excellent organizational and communication skills (written oral). Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Package). A forklift license and code C driver’s license. THE POSITION: PROCESS CONTROL AND AUTOMATION SPECIALIST ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: The incumbent will report to the Senior Process Control and Automation Engineer and be accountable for: Supporting maintenance, production, metallurgical, internal project teams on software related issues. Maintaining Programmable Logic Controller Systems (PLC Systems) – Siemens: S7 1200, S 7 200, S 7 300, S 7 1500. Maintaining Human Machine Interphase (HMI) Systems – Siemens KTP 700, KTP 1900, TP177, Phoenix Contact Word Press 09T/Web Solution (WS). Identifying and implementing process control improvements by working closely with process area owners and operators. Providing automation and process control leadership, configuration and ongoing support for operations at the smelter. Providing assistance to area personnel in troubleshooting processes to control problems. Participating in the definition of the Alarm Management strategy, coordinating implementation and preserving the process integrity. Examining and translating user requirements and equipmentrelated process control queries into appropriate solutions that, taking feasibility into account. Working with team to implement process control models, strategies and other methods for ensuring quality output. Implementing changes to the process control system in a timely and accurate manner. Supporting the Electrical Department with Danfoss, Schneider and Siemens Direct Online (DOL) and Variable Speed Drive (VSP) Integration into Distributed Control System (DCS). Providing Programmable Controllers /PLC, start-up support to meet production schedules and meet business needs. Exercising compliance relative to environmental, safety and business practices. Conducting visible felt leadership in accordance to company standards. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent supplemented by coursework in Distributed Control System (DCS) and PLC networks. Five (5) years working experience with modern DCS systems, Yokogawa CentumVP preferred. Working knowledge and programming of Profibus Distributed Peripherals/Process Automation (DP/PA) systems. Working knowledge and programming of Yokogawa ProSafe Safety System preferred. Working knowledge of Industrial Ethernet Networks (Fiber Optic Link Modules). Knowledge of Programmable Controllers (PLC) preferably, Siemens. Ability to schedule work, prioritize activities and complete multiple tasks. Good professional administrative skills.
