The modems will be serial (RS232) to GPRS with CSD fallback capable. 6. Must be ICMP and TCP/IP supported and must get IP address remotely via SMS, CSD or GPRS. 7. The modem shall compensate for inherent GSM technology issues of network timeouts. 8. The modem antennae must be robust and vandal proof, have a minimum frequency of 900MHz. 9. Modem(s) must be compatible with at least Landis & Gyr ZxD400Xt and Elster A1700, A1400 and AS230industrial and commercial meters. 10. The modems must have the ability to fit inside the meter casing.
